Extremity Adjustments:

Doctors of Chiropractic (D.C.) are trained to adjust and treat all joints of the body including knees, ankles, wrists, elbows and TMJ (jaw joints).  Our Doctors apply specific adjustments to the problematic joint, re-aligning it which reduces pain and increases the range of motion and functioning of the joint.

Chiropractic adjustments may be done manually (by hand) or with the assistance of an adjusting tool, such as an Activator.

Neuromuscular Re-education

Re-education of the patient’s movement patterns, balance, coordination, posture and proprioception (where the body is in space) with hands-on therapy, exercises, stretching and/or other therapies.

The percussor works by breaking up scar tissue and adhesions in the body’s fascia which cause restricted motion or pain. The percussor releases vibrations which penetrate through the various fascia layers promoting muscles to relax and release latent lactic acid and allowing lymphatic drainage.

The Activator is a stainless steel device with a spring and hammer that delivers a controlled thrust or adjustment to the spine or other joints in the body. It releases so fast a person cannot tighten in response to it. Sometimes with manual adjusting, the muscles will tighten up so that the joint cannot be moved with the hands. Not only does the Activator move the bone, research has shown that it stimulates the muscles that are in spasm nearby and also stimulates the nerve endings, helping quiet them down when they are irritated

Pelvic Blocks

A gentle technique that uses gravity and positional blocks to realign the low back and pelvis.

Ultrasound Therapy

Is a deep heating therapy that increases blood flow in a local area to speed up the healing process. It can reduce swelling, muscle spasm and even soften scar tissue in an injured area.

Electric Muscle Stimulation:

The two primary uses for this treatment are pain relief and muscle re-education.  Wires from the EMS machine are connected to adhesive patches that are placed on the skin over a predetermined area. Electrical current is then sent from the machine to the patches and delivered into the muscle tissue below, causing a sensory or motor response.

Neuromuscular Re-education:

Our Doctors assist patients in specific functional exercises to help retrain the nerves to work normally again.  This will allow your treatment to last longer and lead to permanent correction of the problem.

Soft Tissue Therapy/Massage:

Our Doctors believe that the muscles need to be treated as well as the spine in order to achieve optimal treatment results.  Soft tissue therapy includes manual (hands on) manipulation of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, and ligaments) to reduce muscle spasm and allow the joints to move more freely.

Low Level Laser Therapy:

Erchonia cold laser therapy has gained FDA approval for the non-surgical treatment of neck and shoulder complaints and is being used widely in the NFL and by the USPS Tour de France team chiropractor. It is the first laser in the world to receive FDA 510(k) market clearance for the treatment of chronic pain.

The laser works via a noninvasive, photonic energy wavelength, so the patient does not feel the immense amount of healing taking place. The device is set at specific cellular frequencies to target the exact tissue type and area of complaint. The laser is pointed at the precise area of complaint for a specified period of time. It works by exciting the body’s cells by infusing them with energy, with the three primary reactions being: reduction of inflammation, cell regeneration, and increased blood flow. Overall, the effects of the laser are decreased pain and inflammation, and increased range of motion.

Laser therapy may be useful to you if you have any of the following:

  • tendonitis
  • frozen shoulder
  • fractures
  • post-operative wounds
  • sprain-strains
  • scar tissue
  • autoimmune diseases
  • chronic or acute pain
  • wound healing
  • arthritis
  • migraines
  • disc herniations
  • minor nerve damage
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • heavy metal detoxification
